Life in 2020 has truly become stranger than fiction. So if you’re having a hard time finding a book to read and committing to it – we might have some good news for you. We’re starting a Silent Book Club!
What is a Silent Book Club:
Every Saturday – we’ll have an hour-long author-led silent reading session. New authors & new book recommendations every week!
Each author will pick a new theme for the reading session but readers are free to bring & read whatever books they like. The idea here is to create a space for anyone who wants to start a reading habit or just spend some time in the company of like-minded folks.
Our fourth session will be next Saturday –
Date: 8th August
Time: 5 to 6 pm
Moderator: Matthew Raggett
What to bring: A book & a beverage (optional)
Here I Am by Jonathan Safran Foer
The Road Less Travelled by M. Scott Peck
The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F*ck by Mark Manson
Flourish by Martin Seligman
How to join:
RSVP by filling this form
We will send you an invitation card closer to the event date
This card will have a meeting ID and password that you can use to join the Silent Reading Session
What happens during the session:
5 to 5:15 pm – Matthew will kick off the session with a brief chat about what each participant is reading and sipping on.
5:15 to 5:45 pm – We will start the silent reading session. Readers are free to switch off their cameras at this point.
5:45 to 6 – Before we end the session there will be a 15 min Q&A with the author.
If you have any questions about the theme or just reading/writing habits during the lockdown – feel free to reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org
