When we decided to commission a book on the Tiger of Mysore, there was only one person we could think of to write it.
Kate Brittlebank, an Australian historian, is the foremost authority on Tipu Sultan and to our excitement, she said she would love to write a book that would shed new light on Tipu and bring him alive for the general reader. Our book will be published later this year and will tell the story of a powerful king and brilliant soldier, who was also a devoted father, husband and son. Her previous books include Tipu Sultan’s Search for Legitimacy: Islam and Kingship in a Hindu Domain. Read one of her excellent pieces on the monarch here.
We’re thrilled, are you?
